After Bruce Nauman
Repeating as a basic technique especially learning a language. The pain of it for me as a pain of always being good. Correcting pronunciation and repeating is boring but a must. When I saw Bruce Nauman’s piece Good boy, bad boy (1985) I suddenly thought what happened if we were not told to be good? So I recreated the piece. I also took the sound wave from my voice, using vinyl cutter to draw the wave on rice paper. Combining layers of images and glued them together, the image itself could speak for itself.

Where is home
This project explores the feeling of leaving and relocating one’s home. When I relocated to New York, I experienced longings, anxieties and fears, and when I went back to my previous home, I found home was not the same one that I had belonged to.
The subject matter is explored using cyanotype, digital editing, plotter printing and acrylic on canvas.
Commuting
I found commuting between languages just like commuting between cities and cultures. I am maintaining my schedule of commuting to New York City twice a week from Long Island so that I can spend my weekend at home. I shoot these pictures randomly at each station the train stops. I also invited a friend who was commuting between Shanghai and Hangzhou in China.
She shoots pictures from Shanghai Station to Hangzhou, while I shoot pictures from New York city to Ronkonkoma. This work, we worked together but separately, in summarizing the city as a place where uncanny similarities happen around the world.

Epitome of Domestic Lives
This work is an epitome of stories from different people. When I draw a sketch, I visited people who live in New York. Listened to their stories, broke them apart, I rebuilt them with my own impressions and understandings.
Focused on cultural variations and blending analogue material into the digital process, I used drawings, silk, and digital ink jet printers, I intended to discover how to transfer traditional art into more contemporary approach by using digital mediums.

Ups and Downs
